Rationale: In the above lesson plan concerns the conflict between Gen. MacArthur and President Truman during the Cold War. I asked my class to divide in two, each choosing a side of the debate, and present their argument. The debate was not over an easy topic, as it boiled down to the basic question of using nuclear force during a war. I believe that this challenged my students to think about all the effects of using nuclear force, and work together to formulate a solid argument.
